"Meta stands for metadata" means information about the content present on your webpage.
Meta helps google crawler to read and understand which type of content your page contain.
Secondly, it helps the user to easily find their required results.

There are three basic types of meta for SEO.

The meta description is also shown on SERPs along with the meta title. A good meta description contains 154-160 characters.
Meta Tags
Meta Tags are the keywords on which you want to rank your blog or webpage. Meta tags settings are done at the back end of the website. A good range of meta tags is 8-12 keywords.
